We've always had tremendous food here. Service is top notch and friendly, drink specials are unique and tasty. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Generous portions, we always go back!

Well... call me pleasantly surprised. When I saw the name "Grill", it evoked images of a 1970s diner. Yet... this is more upscale - in a relatively affluent neighborhood in the Detroit area that's thrived for decades. Quite a selection of appetizers ranging from whiskey steak medallions to truffle fries. There are quite a few salads to choose from. There's probably 10-15 options for a main course with either beef, chicken, fish, shrimp, or pork - served with vegetables and a sauce that complements the main dish. Don't expect normal "grill" or "diner" food - this is more prepared like a chef in a fancier restaurant - but without the fancy atmosphere or the high price. They do have daily specials that are prepared that I'd recommend. Good place to meet with friends vs. a romantic spot.

Excellent meal and service, interesting choices in the menu, I had the salmon dill and cream cheese omlet!

I definitely enjoyed my visit here! We were able to fit 6 people in their big booth, there probably could have been one more. The bathrooms were clean and so were all the dishes and silverware, I ordered the crab omelette and it definitely was delicious! I'd order it again. They had English muffins but there were better than any other English muffin I've ever had. I seen what the burger looked like and it looked extremely yummy I'll have to order that next time I go

I stopped in here for lunch today and did the Pesto Grilled Cheese & tomato soup. I also did the Cobb salad with the red onions and blue cheese on the side. Salad was very good. Sandwich was good but not great. I think I was expecting cheddar in my head. The soup was really good. Staff was helpful and friendly. She took good care of me and addressed every need I had. It was very busy and noisy so don't expect a quiet place to work. I would come back.

Service was amazing and attentive! Booked a reservation for our party of 7, seated right away. + Turkey Sandwich ($17) w tomato bisque as my soup of choice: buttery, toasted bread with loads of thinly sliced apple slaw, spinach, and turkey slices. Asked for the fig onion jam on the side. Super refreshing combo, but wished there was more meat. The soup was hearty and delicious! (7.3/10)

We had another terrific dinner at BHG last night. So glad they started taking reservations under new ownership. The food hasn't missed a beat with the new owner. Caesar to start was very good. We had the crabcake entree (only on menu as an appetizer but can order as entree) and the braised lamb shank entree. Both great. And the peach mango blueberry cobbler....oh my.

I haven't been to BHG in over 10 years. I was pleasantly surprised to see that my favorite salad is still on the menu! The pulled chicken salad is my favorite salad there. I used to get it all the time when I lived close by this restaurant. The salad was exactly how I remembered it. It did not disappoint. I also had the James Beard hash browns and they were good. Unique in that the outside was crispy and the inside was kind of soft like mashed potatoes. I like the two textures. It was a treat for me to go this weekend with a group of friends and it was a good experience. We went at noon on a Sunday during their brunch and it was packed! Definitely have a reservation if you have a party of six or more. That is the minimum to have a reservation. Our waitress was really friendly and she kept making sure that we didn't need anything else. Very attent ive, which I appreciate. They add a 20% gratuity automatically for all dine in customers. They even circled it on the receipt so that you realized it was there. I thought that was excellent. They also had no issues separating our bills which is also wonderful because so many restaurants now give you a hard time about separate bills. This wasn't a cheap brunch, but it was delicious. The cocktail was strong and completely worth the price tag.

Food: Loved the Swordfish special - had a great balance of flavors and the fish was cooked well. Wish I could come back and order it because I thought it was so good. Mixed reviews from the table on the Braised Shortrib. Many felt it was fatty and didn't love the cauliflower mash that comes with it. Ambiance: A bit cozy inside so recommend making reservations if you plan on going for dinner with a large group. Service: Staff was super friendly and helpful!
